According to the information,  Pilot In Command Capt Deepak  Sathe and First Officer Capt Akhilesh Kumar both  died in this accident. At the same time, many people are said to be injured. A team of NDRF has left for Kozhikode for relief and rescue operations. 50 NDRF personnel have been sent to the spot. The NDRF team has been sent from Malappuram.

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय ने कहा कि पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने विमान दुर्घटना के संबंध में केरल के सीएम पिनाराई विजयन से फोन पर बात की है। सीएम ने पीएम को बताया कि कोझीकोड और मलप्पुरम जिला कलेक्टर और आईजी अशोक यादव सहित अधिकारियों की एक टीम हवाई अड्डे पर पहुंच गई है और बचाव अभियान जारी है।

जानकारी के मुताबिक इस हादसे में एक पायलट की मौत हो गई है। वहीं, कई लोग घायल बताए जा रहे हैं। राहत और बचाव कार्यों के लिए एनडीआरएफ की एक टीम कोझीकोड के लिए रवाना हो गई है। 50 एनडीआरएफ कर्मियों को घटनास्थल पर भेजा गया है। एनडीआरएफ की टीम को मलप्पुरम से भेजा गया है।

अस्पताल में भर्ती


विमान दुर्घटना में कई लोग गंभीर रूप से घायल हुए हैं। घायलों को इलाज के लिए अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है। फिलहाल घटनास्थल पर अराजकता का माहौल है और राहत एवं बचाव कार्य किया जा रहा है। इस विमान में यात्रियों को वांडा इंडिया मिशन के तहत दुबई से वापस लाया जा रहा था।

Hyderabad: A Pilot of Indigo Airlines died after involving a car accident while he was on his way to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on Monday morning. Mahendar Singh was heading to the airport from Gachibowli when his car met with the accident on Outer Ring Road (ORR). His death was instantaneous. Budget carrier SpiceJet on Thursday said it has been designated as the "Indian Scheduled Carrier," to operate flights to the United States. SpiceJet would be the first Indian budget carrier to operate services to the United States.
This has been done in terms of the Air Services Agreement between India and the United States, SpiceJet said in the regulatory filing.
Currently, only the national carrier Air India is operating flights on India-US routes.
"This is to inform you that in terms of the Air Services Agreement between the Government of India and the Government of the United States of America, SpiceJet has been designated as Indian scheduled carrier to operate on agreed services between India and the USA," SpiceJet said in the regulatory filing.
Shares of SpiceJet were trading at 49.75, up 4.85 per cent over its previous close on the BSE.

Air India to send Crews and Staff on Long Leave Without pay for upto Five Years

Air India has over 11,000 permanent employees on its rolls, which include staff from its subsidiary companies
National carrier Air India Limited's board of directors have approved a leave without pay (LWP) scheme for its permanent employees for a period of six months to two years, which is extendable to upto five years, in a bid to cut costs during the current pandemic.

"This Scheme (LWP) is being introduced for grant of leave without pay & allowances for permanent- employees, for a period of six months (extendable upto 5 years) or for a period of two years(extendable upto 5 years)at the discretion of the Management," Air India said in a staff notice on 14 July.

"(The) Board of Directors in its 102nd meeting held on 7th July, 2020 has approved a Scheme whereby employees can opt to take Leave Without Pay ranging from six months or for two years and the same can be extendable upto five years (copy of the Staff Notice attached)," the notice said.
It added that the Scheme authorizes the airline's chairman and managing director to pass an order whereby an employee could be sent on leave for six months or for a period of two years extendable upto five years, depending upon factors like suitability, efficiency, competence, quality of performance, health of the employee, redundancy, etc.

The airline's regional heads and departmental leaders have been asked to forward a list of employees for compulsory LWP by 15 August.

When contacted, an Air India spokesperson was not immediately available for comments.

Air India has over 11,000 permanent employees on its rolls, which include staff from its subsidiary companies.

Indian airlines are staring at a revenue loss of ₹1.3 trillion between fiscal 2020 and 2022 due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic that has severely hit demand, rating agency Crisil said in a report on Wednesday

Airlines are also unlikely to recoup from this loss and bounce back to pre-pandemic levels of double-digit growth at least in the medium term, said the report.
