About Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways is one of two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates. Its head office is in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, near Abu Dhabi International Airport. Etihad commenced operations in November 2003. It is the second-largest airline in the UAE after Emirates. The name Etihad is Arabic for 'Union'.
The airline operates more than 1,000 flights per week to over 120 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America, with a fleet of 102 Airbus and Boeing aircraft as of February 2020. Etihad Airways holds minority equity investments in the participating airlines, as well as having had a stake in Virgin Australia, until its insolvency in April 2020 with no return on investment. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Minimum High School certification or any higher education
Fluent English verbal and written comprehension; another language is an additional benefit
Must be at least 21 years old
Minimum height is 161 cm
No tattoos or body piercing (exception for one earring in the lower lobe of each ear for females only) that would be visible whilst wearing the Etihad uniform (bandages and cosmetic coverings are not permitted)
No criminal record
Excellent personal presentation, style and image
Willing to serve alcohol, including during the holy month of Ramadan

Aircraft Engineer - Line Maintenance
Location:
Abu Dhabi, AE
The Licensed Aircraft Engineer reports to the Lead Engineer and performs all required maintenance activities and certifications in accordance with EY authorization policy. To supervise Aircraft Engineers and Technicians in all aspects of maintenance carried out on aircraft(s) ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and relevant technical data to optimize serviceability of aircraft(s) and support operational schedules.
Accountabilities
Completes all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with current company procedures.
Carries out maintenance work in compliance with company, health and safety and airport procedures and regulations.
Ensures that the aircraft effectivity is correct and that the latest revision is being referenced, prior to the use of approved maintenance data.
Assures that all material, parts tools, equipment and documentation is prepared at the beginning of the shift.
Assures assigned aircraft are met on arrival and departed by an engineer.
Ensures that the area around an aircraft for which Etihad Airways is responsible are clear of the hazards associated with Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
Coordinates his/her maintenance activities on his/her assigned aircraft.
Provides guidance and assistance to team members to ensure safe and effective working practices.
Ensures the cleanliness of station facilities.
Ensures equipment and premises utilised by maintenance staff in a serviceable, clean and safe condition.
Behaves in a manner which reflects a professional approach when dealing with customers.
Accepts appropriate training that will enable a more effective contribution.
Wears equipment provided by the company for health and safety reasons, and to promote the company corporate image, as appropriate.
Performs inspections as required on GSE and completes the form Ground Support Equipment Checklist - AUH EY (QA269).
Performs daily inspection of company vehicle before use and completes the form Vehicle Maintenance Inspection (QA258).
Ensures that all work performed at Etihad and completed in accordance with its processes and procedures is done in a safe manner.
Familiar with, enforce and follow the procedures stipulated in the Safety & Quality Management Manual (SQMM) and become an active participant in the workplace safety program.
Encourages colleagues by being actively involved in the promotion of a positive reporting culture.
Education & Experience
High School leaving Certificate / or Education to university/college degree.
Valid aircraft maintenance license (UAE GCAA).
2 Etihad aircraft types (level 3) is preferable
Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance of which 3 years is in a Line Maintenance environment.

2) Screening

Great! Congratulations! This is where we’ll have a chat about the role, explain our recruitment process to you and ask you a few preliminary questions to help us better understand your profile and its fit to the role.
If we think you’re a good fit after the call, we’ll send your profile and application to the Hiring Manager for review.
If the Hiring Manager is interested, you’ll move forward to the assessment stage.
If not, we’ll make sure we let you know, either personally or by email.
3) Assessment
We use multiple assessment techniques to better understand your fit to the role as well as the Etihad culture, values and ways of working. All our assessments are designed to understand your potential in three key areas:
Technical Skills:
What is your performance record in the areas of expertise (capabilities and knowledge) relevant to the role?
Business Skills:
How well do you fit in to the Etihad culture, our ways of working as well as our values and corporate behavior?
Motivation:
What are your professional and personal reasons for interest in the opportunity?
The actual assessments will vary according the role but may include:
English Language Tests: to understand your proficiency in basic interaction required for work
Reasoning Tests: to understand you verbal, numeric and abstract reasoning ability
Psychometric Profile: you complete a questionnaire to help us understand your preferred ways of working
Competency Interviews: structured interviews to understand your technical, soft skills and motivation
Business Tests: a challenge or exercise that is relevant to the role

4) Offer
Once we complete the Assessment process for all ‘short-listed’ candidates, our recruitment team will review their insights with the Hiring Manager and choose their preferred candidate.
If you’ve been successful, we will present you with a conditional offer of employment before moving onto the Onboarding Process.
If you haven’t been successful, we’ll let you know and try our best to share our reasons with you and give you pointers to develop yourself for the future.
