Airlines Hiring in Gulf Air

Gulf Air is the state-owned airline and the flag carrier of Bahrain, which was founded in 1950 by British Pilot Freddie Bosworth as Gulf Aviation. Headquartered in Muharraq, the airline operates scheduled flights to 55 destinations in 28 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, Indian sub-continent and the Far East. The airline's main hub is the Bahrain International Airport.

Gulf Air currently serves all its destinations with a combination of wide and narrow body jets of Airbus A320, Airbus A321, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321neo and the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Gulf Air is the sponsor of the Bahrain Grand Prix and Bahrain International Airshow. It has been certified with 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by Skytrax, becoming one of just sixteen airlines and only the third airline in the world and in the Middle East respectively to currently achieve this top recognition. Dubai–International is the busiest route served by the airline, with over 95 flights a week back and forth. It was formerly a multinational airline owned by Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar. In 2002, Qatar became the first nation to leave the Gulf Air consortium to create its own national airline, followed by the UAE in 2005 and Oman in 2007, leaving the airline completely owned by and based in Bahrain.

Gulf Air has a legacy of service and style built on more than 65 years of Arabian hospitality. Today this same ethos is evident in the warm care and personalised service offered to passengers in all our cabins.

More than 2000 men and women make up the multi-cultural complement of Flight Attendants who serve in our cabins across the network. Drawn from over 60 nationalities and speaking over 70 different languages, they provide the diversity and mix of cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds to cater appropriately to passengers from all over the world.

To meet the demands of our network and frequencies and continue to provide the highest levels of service and care, we are engaged in an active and ongoing programme to recruit professional individuals who share our passion for excellence and are willing to go the extra mile to provide the best customer service in the skies.

Career Development

Flight Attendants

The Flight Attendants Service Training team nurture and enhance the diversity and the strong customer service and interpersonal skills of our Flight Attendants, who have been selected to deliver the traditional warm Arabian hospitality to our customers. Our mission is to offer truly Arabian hospitality through genuine and respectful service, proudly given to create a personalised travel experience that will surprise and delight every Gulf Air guest.

Before you start flying, you'll undergo an intensive eight week training programme in our training school in Bahrain. It covers everything from first aid, safety and emergency procedures training, customer service, on board product knowledge, cultural awareness, teamwork, assertiveness training and grooming standards. This consists of theoretical classroom instruction, practical role plays and on the job training. There is plenty of opportunity throughout training to demonstrate the skills you learn in our mock-up aircraft.

At the end of the eight weeks, if you have reached all the required standards, you'll be awarded your “Wings” as a full member of the Gulf Air team and be ready to start flying.

Opportunities exist for bright, driven, talented individuals to further their career through promotion. Following initial training and inflight experience, Flight Attendants that demonstrate positive performance may advance to more senior positions and undertake supervisory and managerial roles. The first level of promotion is to progress to working in our Business Class cabin as an assistant and based on performance, Flight Attendants are then selected to operate as the Chef's assistant in the First Class cabin. Flight Attendants then have the opportunity to take responsibility for a particular cabin such as Economy or Business Class. Further on, with significant experience, you may be eligible to become Cabin Service Manager, managing the entire inflight service. This is the most senior role with Flight Attendants, and requires management and leadership skills.

There are opportunities for Flight Attendants to pursue other roles and interests within the airline. Flight Attendants can become involved in training, recruitment, inflight auditing, working as development advisers or being part of Gulf Air's promotional team, often alongside their flying duties. For example, the Sales Track programme enables experienced Gulf national Flight Attendants to have the opportunity to move into Sales Executive roles. This initiative leverages their strong customer service, interpersonal skills and product knowledge and allows them to pursue a different career path utilising these skills.

Sky Nannies

In addition, some of our Flight Attendants are trained to become Sky Nannies. The job of a Sky Nanny is to do anything and everything she can to make life easier for parents travelling with children. From elping with boarding and disembarkation to giving parents that much needed break during a long flight.

Suitably qualified candidates are identified within Flight Attendants ranks.
