EASA has formalized its official Pilot Competencies, with each Competencies being a sub-set of behavioral markers that pilots must demonstrate to ensure that the operation is safe, efficient and comfortable.

It is important that you know and practice these Competencies, so below we have listed each proficiency as well as an explanation and practice sub-sets.

1. Situational Awareness

Understands and understands all relevant information available and anticipates what may happen that may affect operation.

# Maintains awareness of Aircraft position, its systems, Flight path and environment.

# Keeps track of time and fuel

# Maintains awareness of the people involved or affected in the operation and their ability to perform as expected

# Accurately anticipates what might happen, plans and stays ahead of the situation

# Awareness of dangers and errors and negotiations to avoid, trap and mitigate strategies.

# Crew reviews mental models regularly to increase situational awareness

# Recognizes signs of low situation awareness and responds effectively

2. Leadership and Teamwork

Demonstrates effective leadership and Team work.
