Mary Kom has won the Gold Medal at the World Boxing Championships 6 times.
The Flight carrying 30 Indian boxers to Dubai for the 2021 ASBC Asian Boxing Championships was made to the emergency landing at Dubai Airport. Legendary boxer Mary Kom was also present on this flight. According to the news agency, this was done due to lack of fuel. During this time, clearance confusions allowed the Aircraft to land a half-hour delay. However, all boxers are safe.
Actually, this SG 142 Aircraft of SpiceJet was taking the Indian Boxing Team from Delhi to Dubai. The plane departed from Delhi Airport at 2.19 am on Saturday. It also had 6 crew members along with 30 boxers. Shortly before Dubai, the Aircraft had a shortage of fuel, due to which an emergency landing permission was sought.
Action will be taken after thorough investigation
An Indian Aviation official investigating the case said that when the pilot briefed Ras Al Khaimah and asked for his landing permission, he said that your Flight was not allowed to land in the UAE. However, Air traffic control (ATC) allowed the landing only after the emergency condition was reported. At the time of landing, there was only 2 tonnes of fuel in the flight. A senior civil aviation officer said that action would be taken after the investigation of the case.
Not recorded as cargo Aircraft
At the same time, SpiceJet has issued a statement saying that the team has reached Dubai safely. All passengers had proper papers. This Aircraft was not recorded as a cargo plane. It was a regular passenger Flight under the Air Bubble Agreement.
The same Aircraft will also bring Indian boxers from Dubai to India. The Aircraft was to leave for India at 6:30 am (Dubai time) on Saturday, except for the boxers. But due to late arrival in Dubai, it will now be released at 7:30 am on Sunday.
Boxing tournament to be held from May 24 to June 1
The UAE has imposed an indefinite ban on Aircraft and people arriving from India since 25 April. This decision was taken because of the increasing cases of Corona. But his country allowed the Indian athlete to participate in the 2021 ASBC Asian Boxing Championship. The tournament will take place from 24 May to 1 June. This is the final tournament for preparations before the Tokyo Olympics.
