A poll of nearly 3000 Pilots by UK-based GOOSE Recruitment and industry publication Flight Global, released on Thursday, found only 45% were doing the job they had trained for, with 30% unemployed, 17% furloughed and 10% in non-Flying roles.

Many Pilots that are still Flying have faced deteriorating working conditions. Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, for example, instituted permanent pay cuts of up to 55%, and Turkish Airways and Singapore Airlines Ltd have temporarily lowering salaries. Whereas they also introduced new policy,

Cathay last week announced plans to cut 5,900 jobs to help it weather the pandemic, including nearly all of the positions at its regional Airline Cathay Dragon, which it has shut down. t is also seeking changes to contracts with Pilots and cabin crew as part of a restructuring that would cost HK$2.2 billion ($284 million).

“We are very grateful that a majority of our Pilots and Cabin Crew have already signed up to the new conditions of service,” the Airline said in a statement.

The Airline has told them if they do not agree to the new contracts by next week, they face termination, according to unions representing Pilots and flight attendants.

The Pilot contracts, which are broadly in line with those given to new hires since 2018, will result in permanent salary reductions of up to 58%, the Hong Kong Aircrew Officers Association (HKAOA) said on Tuesday.

Air India Director passed this statement in his letter said “If Air India fails to set up vaccination camp on pan India basis the Flying crew above the age of  18 years on priority , we will stop work .”

Air India Pilots threaten to stop work if Airline fails to vaccinate Flying crew COVID-19. This is the condition of Pilots worldwide they are facing termination. They are not able to maintain a health and conditions of families. Pilots loose their   jobs due to lockdown and travel restrictions and those who are working are not getting full pay their salaries are reduced by 40%-70% . Not just India it is the condition of Aviation Industry Worldwide and negligence by Govt.
