Virgin Atlantic, a trading name of  Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited and Virgin Atlantic International Limited, is a British airline with its head office in Crawley, England. The airline was established in 1984 as British Atlantic Airways, and was originally planned by its co-founders Randolph Fields and Alan Hillary to fly between London and the Falkland Islands. Soon after changing the name to Virgin Atlantic Airways, Fields sold his shares in the company after disagreements with Richard Branson over the management of the company. The maiden flight from Gatwick Airport to Newark International Airport took place on 22 June 1984.

 

Manager – Network Operations Planning and Performance

As Manager – Networks Planning and Performance, you will be responsible for delivering a structured operational planning process for a rolling 24-month planning cycle. You will act as a central Operations contact, influencing cross-functionally across Airports, Cargo, Commercial, Customer, Engineering, Crew and Operations to deliver a fully-flowed, resilient flying program.

Contract: Fixed Term Secondment – 6 Months

In a nutshell

As Manager – Networks Planning and Performance, you will be responsible for delivering a structured operational planning process for a rolling 24-month planning cycle. You will act as a central Operations contact, influencing cross-functionally across Airports, Cargo, Commercial, Customer, Engineering, Crew and Operations to deliver a fully-flowed, resilient flying program.

 

Day to day

You will chair Fly Red meetings and working groups, representing Network Operations throughout the schedule planning process. Responsible for translating commercial objectives into an operational output which is completed in a timely manner and incorporates any ad-hoc requests within the operational planning window (6 weeks).

Pro-actively share and review the flying programme within the operational window and in advance of functional areas individual lead times enabling all partners to fully adhere to legislative, compliance, recruitment, training or any other appropriate requirements that will enable the full and safe delivery of the seasonal flying program as planned.

 

 

Responsible for driving performance across the OCC and Airports by reviewing operational planning parameters and performance metrics and work collaboratively with the Manager - OCC Operations Delivery, Compliance and Improvement to deliver continuous improvement cross functionally. Acting as the focal for Operations and Airports insight tracking, developing and bridging inconsistencies across all OCC KPIs and metrics, ensuring OCC achieve all commitments.

 

 

You will ensure business areas are appraised of latest trends and quantified impact and work with the data and insights team to harmonise and activate campaigns which support the wider operations strategy.

 

 

Manage a team of operations analysts to deliver business reporting, schedule & operational performance analysis and data tools.

 

 

Manager – Network Operations Planning and Performance will act as deputy to Head of Operations in Operational Planning and Performance meetings/working groups as required.

  • You’ll need to hold a valid passport which permits you to travel to all of the destinations that we fly to.
