Virgin Atlantic is looking for a skilled and relationship-focused Partner – Industrial Relations to help strengthen collaboration between the business, employees, and recognised trade unions. This role is central to maintaining a positive workplace culture while supporting operational excellence across key business areas.

About the Role

As an Industrial Relations Partner, you will work closely with operational leaders, employee representatives, and union partners to manage industrial relations matters effectively. You will provide expert advice, support consultation processes, and help create solutions that balance business objectives with employee needs.

This position requires someone who can build trust, influence stakeholders, navigate complex situations, and contribute to a fair and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead industrial relations activities across operational departments.
✔ Develop and maintain strong relationships with recognised trade unions.
✔ Provide guidance on collective agreements, consultation frameworks, and governance processes.
✔ Support leaders in handling complex employee and industrial relations matters.
✔ Facilitate consultation meetings and employee engagement forums.
✔ Identify and manage potential industrial relations risks.
✔ Assist with dispute resolution and promote positive workplace outcomes.
✔ Collaborate with HR, Employee Relations, Reward, and operational teams to ensure consistent decision-making.

What We're Looking For

Experience in Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, or HR Business Partnering roles.
✔ Strong background working within unionised environments.
✔ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
✔ Ability to balance commercial objectives with employee and governance considerations.
✔ Knowledge of collective agreements, consultation processes, and employment legislation.
✔ Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
✔ Experience within aviation, operational, or highly regulated industries is advantageous.
