About the Role
British Airways is seeking a dedicated Safety Business Partner to support its Engineering division. This frontline operational role plays a key part in promoting a proactive safety culture and ensuring that safety remains at the heart of daily operations.
Working alongside experienced engineering professionals and safety specialists, the successful candidate will help strengthen operational safety, encourage safe working practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and maintenance of a positive safety culture across operational areas.
Work closely with frontline leaders and teams to reinforce safety expectations and best practices.
Participate in safety walks, workplace inspections, investigations, and action-tracking activities.
Assist in implementing health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
Identify emerging safety trends and contribute to practical solutions and improvements.
Promote collaboration, coaching, and engagement to improve workplace safety performance.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a genuine passion for workplace safety. They should be organized, self-motivated, and capable of building trusted relationships across teams.
Preferred qualifications and experience include:
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements within a regulated environment.
Experience working in engineering, aviation, or similar operational industries.
Relevant safety certifications such as NEBOSH, ISEP, or equivalent qualifications.
Ability to obtain required airside operational clearances.
Engineering-related education or membership in a professional safety organization is advantageous.
