SpiceJet designated as a Scheduled Carrier to the United States Of America and UK 

 Currently, only the national carrier Air India is operating flights on India-US routes 

Budget carrier SpiceJet on Thursday said it has been designated as the "Indian Scheduled Carrier," to operate flights to the United States. SpiceJet would be the first Indian budget carrier to operate services to the United States.
This has been done in terms of the Air Services Agreement between India and the United States, SpiceJet said in the regulatory filing.
Currently, only the national carrier Air India is operating flights on India-US routes.
"This is to inform you that in terms of the Air Services Agreement between the Government of India and the Government of the United States of America, SpiceJet has been designated as Indian scheduled carrier to operate on agreed services between India and the USA," SpiceJet said in the regulatory filing.
Shares of SpiceJet were trading at 49.75, up 4.85 per cent over its previous close on the BSE.

Air India to send Crews and Staff on Long Leave Without pay for upto Five Years

Air India has over 11,000 permanent employees on its rolls, which include staff from its subsidiary companies
National carrier Air India Limited's board of directors have approved a leave without pay (LWP) scheme for its permanent employees for a period of six months to two years, which is extendable to upto five years, in a bid to cut costs during the current pandemic.

"This Scheme (LWP) is being introduced for grant of leave without pay & allowances for permanent- employees, for a period of six months (extendable upto 5 years) or for a period of two years(extendable upto 5 years)at the discretion of the Management," Air India said in a staff notice on 14 July.

"(The) Board of Directors in its 102nd meeting held on 7th July, 2020 has approved a Scheme whereby employees can opt to take Leave Without Pay ranging from six months or for two years and the same can be extendable upto five years (copy of the Staff Notice attached)," the notice said.
It added that the Scheme authorizes the airline's chairman and managing director to pass an order whereby an employee could be sent on leave for six months or for a period of two years extendable upto five years, depending upon factors like suitability, efficiency, competence, quality of performance, health of the employee, redundancy, etc.

The airline's regional heads and departmental leaders have been asked to forward a list of employees for compulsory LWP by 15 August.

When contacted, an Air India spokesperson was not immediately available for comments.

Air India has over 11,000 permanent employees on its rolls, which include staff from its subsidiary companies.

Indian airlines are staring at a revenue loss of ₹1.3 trillion between fiscal 2020 and 2022 due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic that has severely hit demand, rating agency Crisil said in a report on Wednesday

Airlines are also unlikely to recoup from this loss and bounce back to pre-pandemic levels of double-digit growth at least in the medium term, said the report.

 We’re looking for a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) who has valid Airframe & Powerplant certification to join our Technical Operations team in one of United’s domestic HUBS.

 In this vital role, you will provide service and maintenance for aircraft systems powerplant, airframe and components.  SUMMARY :
Provides Business Development (BD) staff with customer service, spreadsheet, word processing and graphics support to include proposal preparation and press releases. Responds to customer inquiries for inventoried products and handles customer complaints regarding returns, shortages, and adjustments. Coordinates the marketing of the organization’s products and/or services by performing the following duties personally or through others.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
• Coordinates maintenance and update of website, assist in the development of advertising and promotional literature and prepare, manage and submit press releases for approval.
• Collect and manage end of month bookings and sales reports. Update and manage the Prospective Order Inquiry (POI) status log and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) metrics, and update the BD driver measure board.
• Support BD meeting preparation activities, distribute department mail, and update monthly management report and PDPR review slides.
• Receive telephone and mail orders from customers and/or sales representative(s) for company's products and services. Provide customers with requested information and offer solutions to problems that may be proffered.
• Manage external Customer Experience and Market Feedback Analysis (MFA) processes, including coordination with quality personnel to identify root causes for deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Develop price recommendations for approval for inventory items and standard products. Provide price and delivery quotes for these items in response to customer solicitations in accordance with standard Terms and Conditions and established internal procedures.
• Prepare and submit quotes/proposals for products and services utilizing established procedures.
• Maintain customer order files and master lists of customers. Manage the Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) process. Initiate and/or issue credits or otherwise make adjustments for items returned according to established procedures and good Customer Service practices.
• Provide and update sales forecast information in accordance with established procedures and attend sales forecast meetings to respond to related questions
• Develop and maintain Work Instructions for customer order entry, customer satisfaction, customer experience, returned goods, and the POI process.
• Provide scheduling, coordination and execution support for tradeshow and conference attendance to support business unit marketing efforts.
• Coordinate with field service supervisor and contracts personnel to ensure materials required for field support are available on the job site as needed.
• Generate shipping and DWR requests in in SAP to support marketing programs and initiatives.
• Coordinates with other functional departments on issues regarding product orders, shipping, quality concerns, etc. as a principal point of contact with the customer.
• Supports continuous improvement efforts in both the administrative and manufacturing environments.

 QUALIFICATIONS :

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree with 3 - 5 years of marketing/customer service experience. In absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required

 Experience with military/defense products/services preferred.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS :
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

 MATHEMATICAL AND OTHER SKILLS :
• Proficiency on PC and with Windows word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
• Strong writing skills; able to make coherent arguments in support of stated position.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
