Our ANZ Aviation team is looking to recruit a Senior to Principal Civil Engineer with a pavement engineering background (and preferably aviation experience) to join our New Zealand business. In this role you will deliver civil aviation projects for our international and regional commercial airports, as well as our Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces’ portfolio of airfields.

As a Senior in our business your ability to take ownership of projects or design packages and drive delivery will ensure project excellence. Minimum Requirements

Pavement Design and Related Civil Infrastructure Design

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment and use influencing skills to drive initiatives.

+ Experience in pavement visual inspections on both airside and landside pavements.

+ Experience in identification of pavement defects, required testing, evaluation of results, identification of cause, and determination of required rehabilitation.

+ Ideally, solid working knowledge of ASTM D5340-12 Airport PCI Surveys.

+ Experience in the latest airfield pavement intrusive and non-intrusive pavement testing.

+ Working knowledge and experience of Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology and associated NZ Guides.

+ Experienced in using the latest pavement structural design software including CIRCLY, FAARFIELD, APSDS, and COMFAA.

+ Demonstrated skills in report writing, client interfacing, workshopping and presentations.

Construction Experience

+ Construction management / monitoring experience.

+ Working knowledge of materials testing, aggregate evaluation, asphaltic and concrete mix designs in support of design specifications and Construction management.

+ Pavements maintenance works

Airside Infrastructure Planning and Design (not required but would be an advantage)

+ Ideally, detailed knowledge of:
+ ICAO Annex 14 and related ICAO planning and design guidelines.

+ NZ CAA Advisory Circular Part 139 (or other equivalent ICAO member states 139 design guidance).

+ Experience in interface design management between airfield pavements, and associated infrastructure items such as AGL, PAPI, radio navigational aids and similar related systems, strip drainage, apron inground services, fuel spill interception, flood lighting and JUHI coordination.

+ Experience in project management, airfield design package management, airfield construction management.

+ Working experience with aviation clients, airlines and authorities, ideally in ANZ and the Pacific would be an advantage.

+ This role requires that you to have the ability to travel throughout ANZ and the Pacific as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Degree qualified in Civil Engineering

+ Chartered Engineer Status or working towards

+ 8+ years’ experience in Aircraft Pavement Design and Maintenance with Civilian - commercial and Military Experience (Candidates with similar highway related experience, but no specific airport experience, are still encouraged to apply).
