Job Purpose: This role is essential for managing technical services teams across various engineering disciplines, including Aircraft Systems, Avionics, Propulsion, Aircraft Structures, Predictive Maintenance, and Reliability Maintenance Programs. The Manager will support engineering teams in their training, career development, and regulatory compliance. The primary goal is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of Air Arabia's fleet by implementing policies, procedures, and best practices, while adhering to regulatory requirements and maintaining fleet airworthiness and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage technical services teams for Aircraft Systems, Avionics, Propulsion, Aircraft Structures, Predictive Maintenance, and Reliability Maintenance Programs to ensure safe and efficient fleet operations, reduce downtime, and comply with regulatory standards.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, OEM recommendations, and operational needs across all technical services teams.
Oversee the evaluation and implementation of Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, modifications, and repairs to ensure timely updates for safety and performance.
Lead the identification and implementation of corrective measures and modifications for airworthiness issues, working with specialized teams to minimize disruptions and protect the airline’s reputation.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Planning department to optimize maintenance programs and improve fleet availability, operational efficiency, and passenger satisfaction.
Coordinate the introduction of new aircraft into the fleet, securing necessary regulatory approvals for a smooth and compliant integration.
Review maintenance forecasts and plan cost-effectively while maintaining safety standards to optimize resource allocation, control costs, and ensure safety.
Oversee the renewal of Certificate of Airworthiness documents to guarantee uninterrupted operations and compliance.
Ensure timely updates and revisions of the airline's Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME) to reflect industry best practices and regulations.
Monitor engine trends, oil consumption, and other predictive maintenance indicators to plan maintenance actions, enhance reliability, and reduce unplanned maintenance.
Control maintenance costs while upholding safety standards to maintain financial stability and compliance.
Manage records according to company standards and civil aviation requirements, and drive continuous improvement in operational practices.
Use data analysis to identify trends and evaluate airworthiness functions to address potential issues proactively.
Prepare for audits, address occurrence reports, and close audit findings to exceed industry standards and build trust with regulatory bodies and passengers.
Liaise with external parties, including OEMs, AMOs, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders on modifications, damage assessments, troubleshooting, and projects.
Enhance maintenance programs to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Promote the use of technological systems and tools for increased efficiency and productivity.
Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance, Safety, and Audit practices affecting aircraft continuing airworthiness.
Manage training activities to be cost-effective, well-scheduled, monitored, and recorded within budget and timeframes.
Ensure new employees receive proper orientation and induction, contribute to the development of senior staff, and inspire performance excellence.
Develop and update training plans and manuals to meet objectives, competencies, and performance needs.
Lead, motivate, and maintain a high-performing team, coaching and mentoring for career and professional growth.
Manage performance through goal setting, support, feedback, and reviews to achieve business objectives and KPIs.
Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs in line with the business plan.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Aircraft/Aeronautical/Aerospace/Mechanical/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Work Experience:
At least 10 years of experience in Aircraft Engineering and/or Maintenance within the aviation industry, including a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
