As we expand our operations, we are seeking a Safety and Quality Partner to join our team and drive safety and quality leadership across all aspects of our business.
Based in our Head Office in Brisbane, the Safety and Quality Partner will play a pivotal role in providing leadership in safety and quality across our operations and support functions. This role will involve partnering with stakeholders to enhance risk perception, driving proactive approaches to safety and quality, and fostering a culture of continual improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Engagement:
Develop key relationships with department stakeholders to continuously enhance behavioural and performance expectations.
Coach and facilitate the continuous enhancement of risk perception, proactive behaviours, application, and adherence to Alliance Airlines safe systems of work.
Ensure tools and guides to support implementation of Alliance Airlines management systems are pragmatic.
Lead risk reduction improvement projects.
Provide technical expertise:
In the use of Alliance Risk Management tools, WHS, SOP’s, and other work instruction-related documents.
To achieve quality audits, incident investigation and action close out.
During planning and change management activities.
In delivery of S&Q Improvement Strategy.
Provide succinct reports, presentations and information to various stakeholder groups as required.
Ensure work environments are supportive of Alliance commitments, principles, and values, and is free from harassment and discrimination and that relevant policies and procedures are observed.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory and other external customers/contractors as required.
Safety & Quality Leadership:
Assist with the management of the company e-SMS Reporting.
Monitor and review the implementation of CSM and WHSM management systems.
Assist with the classification of occurrences at appropriate level of risk and allocate assessments to relevant departmental managers.
Analyse all safety occurrences to determine if Investigation is warranted in accordance with CSM criteria.
Perform investigations as required on reported occurrences related to Safety, compliance, and WHS related events.
Manage Investigations to defined departmental time parameters and standards.
Report any significant or elevated safety risks to Head of Safety.
Host external Regulatory or Investigator teams as required.
Provide advice and direction in the development of company safety system policy process and procedures including safety promotional material.
Provide advice and direction for Safety Performance and Monitoring.
Represent Safety and Quality Department in implementation of safety programs such as, HFNTS, FRMS, FDAP and Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings or as directed by the Head of Safety.
Develop and maintain organisational tools, procedures and methodologies for Safety Risk and Change Management System
Ad – Hoc short notice travel to meet investigation requirements (when required)
Manage portfolios as allocated by the Head of Safety.
Oversight, review and amend safety, security and emergency training information presented in LMS modules.
Ensuring investigations are complete allocated Investigations to a high standard.
Perform delegated responsibilities during absences of the Head of Safety.
Perform all allocated audits in a timely manner.
Develop and train members of the Safety team and Alliance departments with relation to Safety and Quality System requirements and outcomes.
WHSE, Security, & Regulatory Compliance:
Promote and maintain a high standard of WHSQ and security compliance as required by the Alliance Airlines Company Safety Manual.
Promote safety, quality & security reporting within eSMS.
Liaises with CASA and ATSB (as directed by the Safety and Quality Management) in all matters affecting Quality & Safety. Complies with all mandatory incident and reporting requirements
Ensure a high standard of WHS and environmental compliance in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Capability Profile:
Qualifications:
Hold a WH&S accreditation (Essential)
Aviation experience and/or associated Tertiary qualification.
Hold a Safety Investigator accreditation (Essential)
Desirable:
Hold an Environmental accreditation.
Hold an Aviation Lead Auditor certificate.
Experience:
Experience in Workplace Health and Safety within aviation or resource sectors.
Experience implementing systems and risk management programs within aviation or resource sectors.
Demonstrated experience with the application of the Civil Aviation regulations within an Aviation environment.
Experience in aviation safety management relating to the provision of appropriate documentation, procedures, processes, and support services.
Demonstrated experience in aviation governance and assurance activities.
Demonstrated experience performing safety investigations.
Project management expertise/experience highly desirable
Experience and/or training in matters relating to Workplace Health and Safety, and Environmental Regulations.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to manage high volumes of work and maintain resilience in difficult situations.
Strong communication & consultation skills
Sound knowledge of risk management processes
Delivery of operational improvement/risk reduction projects with an operational bias
Ability to manage and lead change.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary aviation safety Investigation procedures and policies
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary aviation safety audit procedures and policies
Knowledge of an operational airline environment and in particular Safety Management Systems
Detailed knowledge of relevant Australian regulatory environment including WH&S and Environmental requirements.
Demonstrated leadership qualities such as conflict/issue resolution.
Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate and work effectively within a team environment.
Knowledge of aviation fuel standards
Demonstrated interaction with Governing Agencies and 3rd Party organisations regarding occurrence and Investigation management.
Dealing with suppliers of various company safety systems
Well-developed computing skills, particularly MS Office Relationships
Liaison with external agencies CASA, ATSB and safety boards as required.
