Position Overview:
Qantas Airways is seeking skilled and dedicated Aircraft Mechanics to join our maintenance team. As an Aircraft Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Qantas aircraft to ensure their safety and airworthiness. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of safety and reliability that Qantas is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on Qantas aircraft in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on aircraft systems, including engines, landing gear, brakes, and flight control systems.
Document all work performed, including repairs, inspections, and parts used, in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Ensure that all maintenance tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.
A valid CASA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License is preferred.
Experience working with commercial aircraft, particularly those in the Qantas fleet, such as Boeing and Airbus models.
Strong understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
Flexibility to work in various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
