Location: Eastern Airways HQ - Humberside Airport

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer and Accountable Manager

Eastern Airways is seeking an outstanding leader to fill the role of Director of Flight Operations (DFO) and Nominated Person for Flight Operations. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of Flight operations, including safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and the engagement of the Pilot Workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all Flight operations activities, including developing and enforcing Flight Operations Policy and Standards.

  • Lead and engage the Pilot Workforce to foster a strong safety culture and company ethos.

  • Make critical decisions regarding the safety and security of Flight operations.

  • Ensure Flight operations adhere to the conditions of the AOC and comply with all relevant regulations and standards.

  • Maintain management continuity and delegate responsibilities as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with LoganAir’s procedures, UK CAA regulations, and other applicable authorities.

  • Oversee the dissemination of Flight safety information and define company policy on operating standards.

  • Manage the Company Flight Time Limitations scheme and oversee amendments to the Company Operations Manual.

  • Distribute relevant safety and operational publications and ensure Pilots comply with company and statutory regulations.

  • Monitor the integrity of the aerodrome categorization list and approve MEL amendments.

  • Present fleet office issues at Flight Ops Management meetings and represent Flight Operations at the Safety Action Group and Safety Review Board.

Requirements:

  • Current type rating for a CS25-certified Aircraft.

  • CAA medical certificate.

  • UK CAA license.

  • Right to live and Work in the UK.

  • Extensive experience and qualifications in aviation with the ability to hold the Nominated Person position as approved by the CAA.

  • Confident, decisive, and capable of balancing strategic vision with operational detail.

  • People-oriented with a passion for team development and remote community engagement.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage diverse tasks and initiatives effectively.
