Job Overview:
Air Canada is seeking skilled Aircraft Mechanics to join its maintenance team. The role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections on the airline's fleet to ensure the highest standards of safety and airworthiness. Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as engine changes, system troubleshooting, and component replacement.
Conduct inspections on aircraft systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, flight control, and structural components.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using advanced diagnostic tools and manuals.
Adhere to all regulatory and company standards, ensuring compliance with Transport Canada regulations.
Document all maintenance activities accurately in accordance with company procedures.
Collaborate with other maintenance teams and provide technical guidance when necessary.
Ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner and that aircraft are ready for scheduled departures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications:
Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license issued by Transport Canada.
Experience working on commercial aircraft, preferably with Air Canada’s fleet types.
Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, engines, avionics, and associated maintenance procedures.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Exposure to varying weather conditions and high noise levels.
