JOB OPPORTUNITY:
For the Position of Safety & Emergency Manager at Air Arabia in U.A.E
Job Purpose:
As the designated "Post Holder," the Manager of Safety and Emergency Response is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and developing Air Arabia's Safety Management System (SMS) and promoting safety awareness and accident prevention. This role involves reporting safety performance and issues to the Accountable Manager and recording actions according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent the GCEO in developing, implementing, and managing safety policies, procedures, and manuals in line with GCAA regulations and company standards.
Manage and develop the Air Arabia Safety Management System (SMS) and Safety Management System Manual (SMSM), ensuring compliance with GCAA and company standards.
Promote "Safety Cultural Awareness" across the company, focusing on risk management, safety hazard prediction, flight accident prevention, and human factors.
Lead investigations into incidents affecting safety, including emergencies, AOGs, accidents, and flight occurrences, following Air Arabia's SMSM procedures.
Ensure company employees are trained on safety measures, and maintain assets, facilities, and equipment according to approved safety standards. Ensure HSE supports the implemented safety measures.
Analyze data from the Company’s Flight Data Monitoring System (FDMS) to address flight operation risks. Use FDMS and safety reports to recommend safety action plans and corrective measures.
Identify safety issues and address them through proper channels for timely corrective actions, adhering to GCAA regulations and company policies.
Regularly report safety performance and issues to the Accountable Manager, ensuring proper recording and compliance with standards.
Maintain the Air Arabia Emergency Response Plan (ERP) per GCAA requirements and the company's ERP Manual. Ensure periodic emergency plan exercises are conducted.
Communicate safety-related information within the company and to third parties, updating on safety measures, findings, and action plans as needed.
Serve as the Secretary for the internal Safety Review Board (SRB), managing meetings and follow-ups.
Chair Safety Action Group (SAG) meetings, updating senior management on decisions and actions, and ensuring proper follow-up.
Represent Air Arabia in external safety-related meetings with Civil Aviation Authorities (DCA & GCAA).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Management, or a related field; or a diploma/certificate with relevant experience.
Training certificates in SMS and Human Factors from a recognized safety training institute.
Completion of an appropriate government or IATA Aviation Safety Course for Safety Managers.
Strong report writing skills for clear and detailed complex reports.
Project Management certification or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Fluent in English.
