The Position of First Officer (Pilot) in the Flight Operations department at Jetstar Airline.
The First Officer (Pilot) at Jetstar Airline is a vital member of the flight operations team, responsible for supporting the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. The First Officer assists in flight planning, execution, and post-flight duties to ensure a smooth and secure travel experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities:
Flight Preparation:
Conduct comprehensive pre-flight inspections to ensure aircraft readiness and airworthiness.
Review flight plans, weather conditions, and relevant data to ensure a safe and efficient flight.
Coordinate with the Captain and ground staff to ensure timely boarding and departure procedures.
In-Flight Duties:
Assist the Captain in operating the aircraft during all flight phases, including takeoff, cruising, and landing.
Monitor aircraft systems, performance, and communications to ensure compliance with flight regulations and safety standards.
Address passenger inquiries and manage in-flight issues or emergencies alongside the flight crew.
Post-Flight Responsibilities:
Conduct post-flight inspections and document any discrepancies or maintenance requirements.
Complete all required flight logs, reports, and administrative duties.
Participate in debriefing sessions with the Captain and flight crew to review operational performance and areas for improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all aviation regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Engage in regular training, simulations, and assessments to maintain proficiency and stay updated on best practices.
Promote a culture of safety and compliance among the flight crew and passengers.
Customer Service:
Maintain a professional demeanor and provide exceptional customer service throughout the flight.
Support the cabin crew in ensuring passenger comfort and addressing any needs or concerns.
Contribute to a positive and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating.
Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Experience:
Minimum of 1,500 flight hours, including significant experience in multi-engine, multi-crew operations.
Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems and aviation regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
Irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Extended periods away from home, including international travel.
Physically demanding tasks, including operating aircraft controls and managing emergency situations.
