The Position of Second Officer (Pilot) in the Flight Operations department at  Porter Airlines.

Porter Airlines is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our Flight Operations team as a Second Officer (Pilot). This role is integral to the safe and efficient operation of our flights. As a Second Officer, you will support the Captain and First Officer in all aspects of flight operations, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the high standards of safety and service that define Porter Airlines.


Key Responsibilities:


Pre-Flight Preparation: 

Collaborate with the flight crew to conduct thorough pre-flight planning, including reviewing flight plans, weather conditions, and aircraft performance data.


In-Flight Support: 

Assist the Captain and First Officer during all phases of flight, including takeoff, cruise, and landing, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety protocols.


System Monitoring: 

Continuously monitor aircraft systems, fuel consumption, and navigation, providing timely updates and addressing any issues that arise.


Communication: 

Maintain clear and effective communication with air traffic control, ground crew, and passengers, relaying important information as needed.


Post-Flight Duties: 

Participate in post-flight inspections, debriefings, and the completion of flight logs and reports, ensuring accurate documentation.


Safety and Efficiency: 

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of flight operations by participating in training sessions, safety briefings, and providing feedback for process enhancements.


Qualifications:


Pilot License: 

Hold a valid commercial pilot license (CPL) with a multi-engine instrument rating.

Flight Experience: 

A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time, with experience in multi-engine aircraft preferred.


Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in aviation, aeronautical engineering, or a related field is advantageous.


Technical Skills: 

Proficiency in flight management systems, navigation instruments, and aviation communication protocols.


Language Proficiency: 

Excellent command of English, both written and verbal. Additional language skills are a plus.


Interpersonal Skills: 

Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure.


Additional Requirements:


Medical Certification:

Maintain a current and valid Class 1 medical certificate.


Training Compliance: 

Successfully completed Porter Airlines' initial and recurrent training programs.

Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
