Air New Zealand Payroll Specialist

          Air New Zealand's Group Shared Services (GSS) team has an exciting opportunity to join the Payroll Team of the year as a Payroll Specialist. As a vital part of GSS, the Payroll & People Solutions team works closely with HR and business stakeholders to deliver professional, accurate and efficient payroll and HR support services to around 10,000 Air New Zealand employees.

The role you will play

        As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining pay related data in the Peoplesoft and ADP Streamline Payroll systems, as well as the Workday HR system, bringing issues to resolution prior to each pay close, providing a complete payroll service to assigned business areas.

  • Develop and maintain highly effective relationships across the

  • Group with all internal and external customers to ensure business needs are understood, prioritized and delivered.

  • Process and collate timesheets and leave forms and generate payslips, reports and annual increments to ensure accurate and timely input and output from the payroll system.

  • Reconciliation and filing of PAYE returns, Superannuation, ACC and Medical/Health Insurance to ensure accurate and timely data that meets legislation, regulations and deadlines.

What you will need to successfully take off in this role

         With relevant previous experience dealing with complex systems and processes in a large corporate environment you will be able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in your work, excellent processing skills and an eye for process improvement. You communicate effectively and are most comfortable in hardworking, collaborative teams. Business-savvy and discerning, you take the initiative to do the things that need doing while managing multiple priorities. Importantly, you put your internal customers at the core of everything you do.
