About our Engineering Team
The Jetstar Engineering Team is at the forefront of delivering operational excellence. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet.
As part of the investment in our future, we have a fleet of new A320NEO’s arriving in mid-2022, and we recently launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the primary maintenance hub of our network. Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar aircraft but also to support Qantas Group A320/1, B717, and A321 freighter aircraft and Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBA’s) in Singapore and Japan. The Melbourne Precinct has also become the proud new home for our Apprentice Program.
About the opportunity
As the Production Planner, your main focus will be to support the planning of all scheduled maintenance requests from our customers, Part 42 organizations. This involves ensuring that maintenance is completed as required per AMO procedures and policies, that planned work matches labor capacity, and that all logistical elements are planned for. You will be part of a united team to plan and ensure the requested maintenance is completed on schedule.
As the production planner, your responsibilities will include:
Managing the production planning process to ensure seamless maintenance event execution: identify turn times, resource requirements (manpower, materials, facility, GSE, and tooling), stakeholder requirements, and constraints.
Through successful production planning initiatives, we drive continual excellence in safety, compliance, on-time performance, and AMO brand values.
Liaise and build relationships with key stakeholders from both Part 145 and various Part 42 organizations.
Relentlessly seeking ‘new ways’ to meet customer needs and support the business to achieve critical business goals
Implement new processes and procedures within the AMO Production Planning business, using identified critical business tools to drive significant and sustainable long-term change, both in the pre-planning and execution phases of maintenance.
To be considered for this role, ideally, you will have:
Detailed understanding of aircraft lines and overnight maintenance operations
Aircraft trade certificate or tertiary qualification in an aviation stream
Experience in an aircraft maintenance environment in a maintenance planning capacity,
Have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, and be capable of assessing and interpreting options and developing solutions.
Have excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within a team.
Have proven people management skills
Experience with TRAX and Microsoft Office
The ability to work rotating shift patterns
Be able to hold a valid AUS ASIC.
Desirable:
Continuous improvement training
Project management qualifications
Exposure to a Maintenance Operations Center environment
Exposure to regulatory bodies
