As an Alaska Airlines Pilot, you will be responsible for safely operating and navigating our aircraft to transport passengers and cargo to their destinations. You will adhere to all aviation regulations, company policies, and procedures to ensure the highest level of safety and customer satisfaction. This position requires excellent flying skills, strong decision-making abilities, and effective communication with the flight crew and air traffic control.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate and navigate Alaska Airlines aircraft, including takeoff, landing, and in-flight operations.
Adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Conduct pre-flight inspections to ensure the aircraft's airworthiness and report any discrepancies or maintenance issues.
Monitor weather conditions and make informed decisions regarding flight routes and potential diversions or delays.
Communicate effectively with the flight crew, air traffic control, and cabin crew to ensure a smooth and efficient flight operation.
Perform regular checks on aircraft systems, instruments, and controls to ensure proper functioning.
Monitor and manage fuel consumption, weight distribution, and aircraft performance during flights.
Respond to any in-flight emergencies or abnormal situations in a calm and professional manner.
Complete all required flight documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Participate in ongoing training and proficiency checks to maintain and enhance flying skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate ratings for the aircraft type operated.
Minimum flight experience of 3,000 hours, including 1,500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
Current First Class Medical Certificate issued by an FAA-approved medical examiner.
Excellent knowledge of aviation regulations, aircraft systems, and emergency procedures.
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the flight crew and air traffic control.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnight flights.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and drug screening.
Willingness to relocate to various locations across the Alaska Airlines network as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a pilot in a commercial airline or regional carrier.
Type rating on Alaska Airlines aircraft or similar aircraft models.
Experience flying in challenging weather conditions or mountainous terrain.
Proficiency in using aviation software and navigation systems.
