Position Overview:
Southwest Airlines is seeking a dynamic and experienced Training Manager to lead and oversee the development and implementation of training programs for our team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, adult learning principles, and training delivery methods. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Training
Programs:
Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs that align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
Needs Assessment:
Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Collaborate with various departments to understand their training requirements.
Instructional Design:
Create engaging and effective training materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and manuals, utilizing best practices in instructional design.
Training Delivery:
Facilitate training sessions using various methods (in-person, virtual, on-the-job) to ensure maximum engagement and learning retention.
Evaluation and Feedback:
Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to improve training quality.
Leadership Development:
Coordinate and manage leadership development programs to foster the growth and development of future leaders within the organization.
Compliance Training:
Ensure all training programs comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of trainers and coordinators, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development. Implement innovative approaches to enhance training effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, with at least 2 years in a managerial role. Experience in the aviation or transportation industry is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning principles, and training delivery methods. Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Proficiency in using training software and tools.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance) or ATD (Association for Talent Development) are preferred.
Leadership:
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong project management and organizational skills.
Analytical:
Ability to analyze data and metrics to measure training effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
