Role Overview
Air New Zealand is seeking a Senior Workforce Planner to join our Workforce Planning & Optimisation team. In this influential role, you will identify and pursue opportunities to maximize productivity while ensuring the operation of a safe, sustainable airline that meets customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Workforce Performance Analysis:
Conduct in-depth analysis of workforce performance.
Identify gaps, trends, and areas for optimization.
Forecasting Models:
Design and maintain complex forecasting models.
Support long-term planning and decision-making.
Insights and Recommendations:
Provide actionable insights based on workforce analytics.
Highlight potential cost savings, productivity enhancements, and process improvements.
Crewing Systems Expertise:
Become an expert in relevant crewing systems.
Ensure best-practice use of crewing systems.
Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal groups.
Essential Requirements
Mindset:
Proactive and outcome-based problem-solving mindset.
Passion for data-driven decision-making and planning.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel skills, including Power Pivot and Power Query.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to gain credibility and influence key stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
Experience in complex dynamic planning and scenario analysis.
Understanding of advanced statistical forecasting and optimization models.
Relevant experience or qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research.
Experience in an airline planning environment (useful but not essential).
