Job Description:
As a Crew Scheduler at Ryanair, you will be integral to our operational success, ensuring that our flight operations are efficiently supported by well-coordinated crew assignments. Your role will involve intricate planning and real-time problem-solving to maintain seamless operations, while complying with aviation regulations and Ryanair’s internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Crew Scheduling and Planning:
Develop comprehensive crew schedules to meet flight operation needs, balancing crew availability, preferences, and legal constraints.
Create and adjust rosters to accommodate operational changes, such as flight delays, cancellations, and unexpected crew absences.
Compliance Management:
Ensure all crew schedules adhere to aviation regulations, company policies, and collective labor agreements.
Monitor and enforce compliance with legal duty time, rest requirements, and other regulatory constraints.
Real-Time Coordination and Problem Solving:
Address scheduling conflicts and operational disruptions promptly, implementing contingency plans as needed.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., flight operations, HR) to resolve issues and adapt schedules dynamically.
Communication and Support:
Serve as the primary point of contact for crew members regarding their schedules, changes, and queries.
Provide timely and clear communication regarding schedule updates, changes, and other relevant information.
Data Management and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of crew schedules, attendance, and any deviations from planned rosters.
Utilize scheduling software to generate reports on crew performance, schedule adherence, and compliance metrics.
Analyze scheduling data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Coordination with Stakeholders:
Collaborate with flight operations, training departments, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal crew resource allocation and readiness.
Assist with the integration of new scheduling tools and systems, ensuring they meet operational needs.
Documentation and Audits:
Ensure all scheduling documentation is complete and accurate.
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in crew scheduling, operations, or a similar role within the aviation industry is highly desirable.
Experience with scheduling software and systems, such as AIMS, SkedFlex, or similar platforms.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving scheduling conflicts.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with crew members and other departments.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of aviation regulations related to crew duty times, rest periods, and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with Ryanair’s operational procedures and crew management practices.
Education:
Relevant qualifications in aviation management, logistics, business administration, or related fields are preferred.
Professional certifications or training in crew scheduling or operations are a plus.
