Job Summary:

The Ramp Agent plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of airport ground handling services. This position involves working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, handling a variety of tasks related to aircraft ground operations, including loading and unloading baggage, guiding aircraft to and from gates, and ensuring the timely departure of flights.

Key Responsibilities:

Baggage Handling:

Load and unload passenger luggage, cargo, and mail.

Transfer luggage between aircraft and airport terminals.

Operate baggage carts and conveyor belts.

Aircraft Guidance:

Direct aircraft to and from gates using hand signals and ground equipment.

Ensure safe docking of aircraft.

Equipment Operation:

Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and de-icing trucks.

Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance.

Safety and Security:

Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.

Conduct security checks on aircraft and baggage.

Coordination and Communication:

Communicate with flight crew, ground control, and other team members.

Coordinate the loading and unloading of baggage and cargo.

Timely Operations:

Ensure the timely arrival and departure of aircraft.

Assist with quick turnarounds to maintain flight schedules.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 pounds).

Willingness to work in various weather conditions.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in airline or airport operations.

Familiarity with ground support equipment.

Basic knowledge of airport and airline security regulations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.

Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
