Job Opportunity: For Pilot at Torres Strait Air in Canada

About the Role:

As a Pilot with Torres Strait Air, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of flights connecting the unique and remote communities of the Torres Strait Islands and Cape York Peninsula. This position offers a unique opportunity to fly in one of the most beautiful and challenging environments in the world, providing essential services to these communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Flight Operations:

Safely operate aircraft in accordance with company procedures and aviation regulations.
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure the aircraft is airworthy.
Plan and execute flight paths using aviation maps, GPS, and weather data.
Monitor fuel consumption, engine performance, and other critical flight parameters.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all applicable aviation regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.
Participate in regular safety briefings and training sessions.
Report any safety concerns, incidents, or irregularities to the appropriate authorities.

Customer Service:

Provide exceptional service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the flight.
Communicate effectively with passengers, providing updates on flight status and addressing any concerns.
Assist with boarding and disembarking procedures.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with ground crew, air traffic controllers, and other pilots to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel to address any technical issues and ensure the aircraft is properly maintained.
Support and mentor junior pilots and new team members.

Qualifications:

License and Certifications:

Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR).
Minimum of 500 flight hours, with experience in remote or challenging environments preferred.
Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.

Skills and Experience:

Strong understanding of aviation safety practices and regulations.
Proficiency in flight planning and navigation using aviation maps, GPS, and weather data.
Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
