Job Description

The primary role of the Aircraft Engineer - B1 Licensed is to ensure that maintenance tasks and certifications for RJA aircraft are performed during both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. This includes line maintenance checks, troubleshooting, defect rectification, component removal/installation, routine servicing, pre-departure/post-arrival checks, and standard aircraft system checks. All tasks must be carried out adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality, and serviceability, following the correct and updated maintenance manuals and technical instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Certification Privileges: Ensure the correct application of certification privileges in line with Company and Local Regulatory Authorizations.

  • Supervision: Oversee maintenance staff assigned by the Duty Engineer to guarantee the safe and timely dispatch of aircraft under your control.

  • Aircraft Accompaniment: Travel with aircraft when away from the base as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

  • Defect Management: Monitor Deferred Defects Lists (DDL) and other defects on RJA aircraft, arranging for rectification and sourcing necessary spares and tools promptly.

  • Operational Monitoring: Keep a close watch on operational issues related to the fleet, including significant occurrences/incidents, and stay updated with relevant Service Bulletins (SB), Service Letters (SL), Service Information Letters (SIL), and Maintenance Operations Letters (MOL).

  • Inspection and Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, modifications, and defect rectifications, ensuring all maintenance procedures and safety precautions are observed.

  • CAMO Coordination: Ensure all maintenance and due items called up by Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) are completed in a timely manner.

  • Status Reporting: Provide updates to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) and CAMO on aircraft serviceability status.

  • Disruption Advisory: Inform Operations Control Center (OCC) and DOM of any potential service disruptions, issues, or concerns impacting the operating program.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that staff under your supervision adhere to technical and safety requirements as defined in the Maintenance Organization Exposition (MOE) and Line Procedures Manual (LPM).

  • Resource Management: Prioritize tasks for allocated staff to ensure efficient use of resources for safe and on-time flight departures.

  • Documentation: Complete all required documentation and certification promptly and in accordance with RJA procedures.

  • Regulatory Adherence: Comply with RJA MOE and LPM procedures when working on aircraft to ensure service release in accordance with local and civil authority requirements.

  • Team Contribution: Act as a focal point on technical matters and perform duties as an “able-bodied person” during emergencies when away from base.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in aircraft maintenance, with 3-5 years as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, preferably in a VIP maintenance environment.

  • Licensing: Valid UAE GCAA License, B1 License without limitations.

  • Aircraft Ratings: Full rating on the A320 Family with CFM56 engines and/or Gulfstream G450.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with EASA, FAA, and UAE GCAA regulatory rules.

  • Technical Competence: Strong technical background with the ability to work independently at outstations.

  • Carrier Experience: Experience with large carriers or maintenance organizations.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental procedures.
