Job Description:
As a Safety Manager at United Airlines, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing safety procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and company standards. You will lead safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety management systems to create a secure work environment for employees and a safe travel experience for passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies in accordance with FAA regulations and United Airlines' standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Lead incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure adherence to safety protocols and address safety concerns.
Prepare and present safety training programs for employees to foster a culture of safety awareness.
Analyze safety performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
Stay updated on industry safety trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and enhance safety practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Aviation Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred).
Proven experience in safety management, preferably within the aviation industry.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present safety information.
Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions to improve safety performance.
Certification in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and/or Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a plus.
