Job Summary:

The Ramp Agent plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of ground services for Porter Airlines. This position involves various tasks related to aircraft handling, baggage handling, and ground support equipment operation. The Ramp Agent works in a fast-paced environment, often outdoors, and is responsible for maintaining safety and efficiency on the ramp.

Key Responsibilities:

Aircraft Handling: 

Safely guide aircraft to and from gates and other areas of the airport.

Baggage Handling: 

Load and unload baggage and cargo from aircraft, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Ground Support: 

Operate ground support equipment, such as tugs, belt loaders, and de-icing equipment.

Safety Compliance: 

Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and fellow employees.

Communication: 

Coordinate with flight crews, ground personnel, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.

Customer Service: 

Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with baggage and other inquiries.

Weather Preparedness: 

Work efficiently in various weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and precipitation.

Qualifications:

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: 

Previous experience in a similar role is an asset, but not required.

Skills: 

Strong communication skills, ability to work in a team, and excellent attention to detail.

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs), work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.

Licenses/Certifications: 

Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain necessary airport security clearances.

Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
