Overview:
Spirit Airlines is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Crew Scheduler to join our dynamic team. The Crew Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and adjusting crew schedules to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations. The role requires a strong understanding of aviation regulations, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Development:
Create and maintain crew schedules that align with operational needs, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
Develop and adjust crew pairings to optimize crew utilization and operational efficiency.
Conflict Resolution:
Address and resolve scheduling conflicts, including crew absences, flight delays, and operational disruptions.
Coordinate with flight crew members, supervisors, and other departments to implement schedule changes and manage unforeseen issues.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all crew schedules comply with FAA regulations regarding duty times, rest periods, and legal limitations.
Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements.
Communication and Coordination:
Act as the primary point of contact for crew members regarding scheduling inquiries and issues.
Communicate schedule changes and updates to crew members promptly and effectively.
Collaborate with flight operations, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of crew resources.
Data Management and Reporting:
Utilize scheduling software and systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of crew schedules, changes, and adjustments.
Generate and analyze scheduling reports to track performance, identify trends, and address potential issues.
Provide reports and insights to management on crew scheduling metrics and performance.
Customer Service:
Deliver exceptional customer service to crew members by addressing their scheduling needs and concerns in a timely manner.
Ensure a positive work environment by fostering effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in crew scheduling or a related role within the aviation industry is highly desirable.
Familiarity with airline operations and FAA regulations is a significant advantage.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with crew members and other stakeholders.
Proficiency in using scheduling software and systems, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies.
Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of FAA regulations regarding crew duty times and rest periods.
Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and company policies related to crew scheduling.
