AIR CANADA is looking for a highly competent and experienced Crew Network Manager to join their devoted team.
DESCRIPTION:
The Crew Network Manager is responsible for providing ongoing guidance and feedback to the Crew Schedulers to ensure daily on time performance and a cost effective operation.
Responsibilities:
Make sure that the scheduling of pilots and flight attendants is efficient.
Make that crew schedulers follow labor agreements and all Canadian aviation regulations when operating.
Assist with cost control, customer service, on-time performance, and crew impact assessment for all irregular operations by providing feedback to the manager of crew scheduling.
Oversee the right course of action to reduce the cost of hiring cabin workers and pilots by comparing operational needs with system reserve resources.
Monitor and oversee everyday punctual execution
To enhance the crew scheduling function, get feedback from crew scheduling staff, line management, and crew members.
Monitor the pilot and flight attendant network (flight schedules) to assess potential disruptions caused by crew issues or factors affecting crew schedules. Proactively develop action plans to mitigate these disruptions.
Promptly alert the System Operations Control (SOC) planning unit of potential crew-related disruptions and propose viable solutions to minimize operational impact.
Analyze and recommend re-crewing solutions during operational disruptions, providing decision-making support to the SOC Manager to maintain operational continuity.
Collaborate closely with pilot and flight attendant schedulers to effectively assign or re-assign crew members in response to schedule disruptions, ensuring efficient crew management.
Rigorously consider crew legalities and contractual requirements in the decision-making process. Direct crew schedulers to make necessary computer adjustments and verify compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Develop comprehensive crew solutions during severe irregular operations to efficiently address major disruptions and restore normal operations promptly.
Work collaboratively with the SOC planning unit to explore options and alternatives, such as extra-sections or equipment substitutions, aimed at enhancing customer service delivery and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Possession of a university degree or college diploma is preferred.
Minimum of one-year experience in crew scheduling.
Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions in high-pressure and stressful environments.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to provide clear direction and leadership in a fast-paced professional setting.
Proficiency in Canadian Aviation Regulations pertaining to crew scheduling.
Effective conflict resolution skills and ability to handle challenging situations constructively.
Familiarity with Crew Scheduling systems such as Netline, Communicator, and RES III is advantageous.
Previous experience in staff management is considered a definite asset.
Availability to work flexible shifts as required.
Conditions of Employment:
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made.
