Harrods Aviation, a renowned leader in the general (private) aviation sector, is dedicated to hiring top-notch individuals who excel in providing exceptional customer service. We are currently seeking a male Security Officer to join our respected and established team at our Luton base. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Role Overview
Reporting to: Duty Security Officer
Primary Duties:
Provide top-tier aviation security for customers from various countries.
Assist with customer service when necessary.
Perform aviation security procedures and operate necessary equipment (e.g., x-ray, ETDE, access control).
Conduct searches on male passengers, staff, luggage, vehicles, and company visitors.
Manage prohibited items, and make reports on confiscations, detentions, trespassing, and building damage.
Establish and manage internal and external relationships, handle conflicts effectively.
Remain calm and focused during high-stress situations.
Patrol company property, inspect security equipment, and report faults.
Assist other departments, including reception and ramp duties (training provided).
Working Hours
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off.
Shift Duration: 11.5 hours with a 30-minute unpaid break (total 12 hours).
Average Work Week: 40 hours.
Flexibility: Must be able to work days, lates, nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Initial Training: Monday to Friday schedule.
Flexible Shifts: One shift set per month may require altered hours to meet business needs.
Candidate Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in a Security environment (business/general aviation/airline).
Knowledge: Familiarity with security measures in demarcated and landside areas.
Skills:
Good communication skills.
IT literacy (Word/Excel advantageous).
Ability to prioritize and work independently.
Sense of humor and enthusiastic personality.
Remain calm under pressure.
Certifications:
CTC clearance.
NASP ‘Ground Security Officer’ (GSO) or ‘Ground Security Supervisor’ (GSS).
National X-ray competency tests (cabin and hold).
Successfully pass mandatory recurrent training.
Obtain a demarcated area airport ID pass.
Physically fit with full vision (aids allowed).
Pass standard medical and airside driving license test within probation period.
Additional Requirements:
Full UK driving license for at least one year.
Five-year checkable work history.
Right to live and work in the UK.
Resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
Remuneration & Benefits
Salary: £28,066 per annum.
