Job Description:

The Ground Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing ground handling operations to ensure efficient, safe, and timely services for Alaska Airlines. This role involves managing ground staff, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with all safety and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of ground operations staff, including ramp agents, baggage handlers, and customer service agents.

Provide ongoing training, performance evaluations, and development opportunities for team members.

Ensure team adherence to Alaska Airlines’ standards, policies, and procedures.

Operational Efficiency:

Oversee ground operations to ensure timely aircraft turnaround and on-time performance.

Coordinate with flight operations, maintenance, and customer service teams to manage daily operations and resolve any issues promptly.

Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Safety and Compliance:

Enforce strict adherence to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and passengers.

Conduct regular safety briefings and audits to maintain high safety standards.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as airline-specific policies and procedures.

Resource Management:

Manage scheduling and resource allocation to meet operational demands while controlling costs.

Monitor and maintain ground service equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and availability.

Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for ground operations.

Customer Service:

Foster a customer-centric culture within the ground operations team.

Address and resolve customer complaints and issues related to ground services in a professional and timely manner.

Collaborate with customer service teams to enhance the overall passenger experience.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ground operations or a similar supervisory role in the airline industry.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

In-depth knowledge of airline ground operations, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on operational efficiency and safety.

Proficiency in using airline operational systems and software.

Working Conditions:

The position may require working in various weather conditions.

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as per operational needs.
