Job Description:

As an Aircraft Dispatcher at Air Canada, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Flight operations. You will be responsible for planning and monitoring Flights, ensuring compliance with regulations, and communicating with Flight Crews to facilitate safe and timely departures and arrivals. Your role will involve collaboration with various departments to optimize Flight routes and manage unforeseen circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

Flight Planning:

Create and file Flight plans, considering weather conditions, Air traffic, and Aircraft performance.

Optimize routes to ensure fuel efficiency and on-time performance.

Flight Monitoring:

Continuously monitor Flight progress and provide updates to Flight Crews.

Adjust Flight plans as necessary in response to changing weather, Air traffic, or other factors.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all Flights comply with Aviation regulations and company policies.

Perform risk assessments and develop contingency plans.

Communication:

Serve as the primary point of contact between the ground operations team and Flight Crews.

Provide timely information and support to resolve any issues that arise during Flights.

Collaboration:

Work closely with maintenance, ground operations, and other departments to ensure coordinated and efficient Flight operations.

Participate in debriefings and post-Flight analyses to continuously improve operations.

Qualifications:

Education: 

High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in Aviation or related fields preferred.

Certification: 

Valid Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate.

Experience: 

Prior experience in Flight dispatch or similar role preferred.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.

Proficiency with Flight planning software and tools.

Working Conditions:

Schedule: 

Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Environment: 

Office-based with occasional need to visit Airport facilities.
