Job Overview: Qatar Airways is seeking a dedicated and experienced Aviation Lawyer to join our Legal team based in Doha, Qatar. This role will involve providing expert legal advice and support on a variety of aviation-related matters, ensuring compliance with international regulations and supporting the airline's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal counsel and support to various departments within Qatar Airways, including Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Safety teams.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to aircraft leasing, procurement, maintenance, and other operational activities.
Conduct legal research and analysis on international aviation laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Advise on legal implications of business initiatives and strategic projects, including international joint ventures, codeshare agreements, and aircraft acquisitions.
Represent Qatar Airways in negotiations with regulatory authorities, suppliers, and business partners.
Assist in resolving legal disputes and claims arising from aviation operations, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Stay abreast of developments in aviation law and industry trends, providing timely updates and recommendations to stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to practice law in Qatar or another jurisdiction with eligibility to practice in Qatar.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience practicing aviation law, preferably with experience gained in a leading law firm or in-house legal department of an airline or aviation-related organization.
In-depth knowledge of international aviation regulations (e.g., ICAO standards, FAA regulations, EASA regulations) and proven ability to apply legal principles in a practical context.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to upholding ethical standards and integrity.
