Overview:

American Airlines is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Dispatcher to join our operations team. The Aircraft Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of flight operations through careful planning, monitoring, and coordination of flights.

Key Responsibilities:

Flight Planning:

Develop and file flight plans that comply with FAA regulations and company policies.

Calculate fuel requirements, considering factors such as weather, flight route, and aircraft performance.

Determine alternate airports in case of emergencies or diversions.

Weather Monitoring:

Continuously monitor weather conditions along flight routes and at destinations.

Provide pilots with timely updates on significant weather changes or potential hazards.

Communication:

Coordinate with flight crews, air traffic control, and other operational personnel to ensure smooth flight operations.

Relay critical information to pilots during flights, including weather updates, route changes, and emergency procedures.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure all flight operations comply with FAA regulations and American Airlines' operational standards.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of flight plans, dispatch releases, and other relevant documentation.

Safety and Efficiency:

Prioritize safety in all aspects of flight dispatching.

Optimize flight routes for fuel efficiency, time savings, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Certification: 

FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate is required.

Experience: 

Prior experience in flight dispatching or a related field is preferred.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.

Knowledge: 

Familiarity with FAA regulations, weather patterns, and aircraft performance characteristics.

Education: 

A degree in aviation, aeronautics, or a related field is advantageous.

Work Environment:

Schedule: 

Must be available to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Location:
