Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and experienced pilots to join our cockpit crew at Air New Zealand. As a pilot, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft, maintaining our high standards of safety, customer service, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Flight Operations:
Conduct pre-flight inspections, monitor weather conditions, and ensure compliance with flight plans and schedules.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere strictly to all aviation regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures to maintain the highest levels of safety.
Communication:
Maintain clear communication with air traffic control, ground staff, and cabin crew to ensure smooth flight operations.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and addressing any needs during flights.
Continuous Improvement:
Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated with industry standards and advances.
Qualifications and Requirements
Licensing:
Hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with relevant type ratings.
Experience:
Minimum of 3,000 flight hours, preferably in commercial aviation.
Medical Certification:
Hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Skills:
Possess strong flying skills, decision-making abilities, and the capability to perform well under pressure.
Communication:
Proficient in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Teamwork:
Demonstrate effective teamwork and maintain professionalism within a diverse team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with Air New Zealand or other major international airlines.
Familiarity with international routes and long-haul flight operations.
Experience with specific aircraft types operated by Air New Zealand, such as the Airbus A320 or Boeing 777.
