AIRservices Australia, a government-owned organization, oversees the safe and efficient management of 11% of global AIRspace and offers aviation rescue fire fighting services at Australia’s busiest AIRports.
Role Description:
Aviation fire fighters provide rescue and medical assistance to AIRcraft passengers and CREW, offer technical guidance on fire safety, and educate users on fire fighting and safety protocols. The role involves responding to all aerodrome emergencies, including providing first aid, managing AIRcraft incidents, and handling fires at AIRports. It requires performing physically and mentally demanding tasks according to a roster that promotes a balanced work-life schedule.

We are currently hiring for our Whitsunday Coast Station.
Earn while you learn:
You will start a 15-week training program in early 2025 (RC103) where you will receive training in aviation fire fighting, first aid, and rescue. This program requires relocation to Melbourne and is fully paid with accommodation provided. During training, you will earn $48,622 per year plus superannuation. Upon qualification, your salary will increase to $68,094 per year plus superannuation. Graduates will receive a PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations) from our Registered Training Organisation (RTO 5168).
Entry standards & minimum requirements:
All applicants, including those who have previously expressed interest, must formally apply online and meet the minimum entry criteria. Applicants must be available to undergo a physical aptitude test by late 2024 at Proserpine. Travel expenses for this test will not be reimbursed.
